"Texts of my body": Eating behavior and body image of trans* people

Texts in which trans* people talk freely, openly, and in their own words about their personal experiences are hugely important to broaden general and medical understanding of topics around eating and the bodies of trans* people.

Unfortunately, there are currently huge gaps in understanding the experiences of trans* people.

An international team of researchers (professor Georgios Paslakis, Ruhr-University Bochum, and professor Heike Bartel, University of Nottingham) is inviting trans* people to submit short testimonials, poems, descriptions of everyday life, song lyrics, raps, creative texts (any type of text and any language is welcome) about their personal experiences on the subject of body, body image, and self-esteem in connection with eating behaviors, appearance, weight, muscle mass, etc., and on all topics that are individually related to this for them.

These may include your experiences in the healthcare system, relationships, family, hopes, fears, career, education, dreams, fantasies ... whatever is important to you!

Your writing can provide more and very different insights than numbers or medical information.

You may choose to share your writing anonymously; your name will not be visible to the public unless you clearly indicate that you wish for it to be mentioned.
