The events listed on this page are relevant to individuals who have a personal or professional interest in eating disorders, body image, self-esteem, and related subjects. As we are a Canadian organization, most of these events are in Canada. 

If you are hosting an event, such as an education session, workshop, or conference, we invite you to let us know about it. We are happy to promote the following on this page: 

  • events for which there is no fee to attend, or the fee is nominal (this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis)
  • fundraisers in support of non-profit eating disorder organizations
  • eating disorder-specific trainings hosted by non-profit organizations (regardless of fee) 
  • eating disorder conferences (regardless of fee)

  • FEDUP Collective

    ONLINE PEER SUPPORT

    Fighting Eating Disorders in Underrepresented Populations (FEDUP) is collective of Trans+, Gender Diverse, and/or Intersex (TGDI) people who believe eating disorders in marginalized communities are social justice issues.

    FEDUP runs the following peer support groups on Zoom:

    • BIPOC Group: 6-7 p.m. EST on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month
    • General Group: 12-1 p.m. EST on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month

    These support groups are free of charge and open to TGDI individuals ages 18 and older, living in any geographic location.

    Eating Disorder Support Network of Alberta (EDSNA)

    NEW ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP

    For Healthcare Professionals Experiencing an Eating Disorder or Disordered Eating

    Dates:  Thursdays starting March 27; weekly meetings until May 22

    Times:  6:00 - 8:00 p.m. MT

    This 8-week audio-only online support group, led by Registered Dietitian Selene Yan, is designed specifically for healthcare professionals seeking a recovery-focused environment.

    Registration is open to residents of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, Yukon, and Northwest Territories.

    The Science Behind Eating Disorders
    Date:  Monday April 28, 2025

    Time:  6:00 - 7:15 p.m. ET

    Learn more about the science behind eating disorders, touching on how stress, trauma, and systemic societal issues such as racism and fatphobia may affect the brain, and how these interactions and impacts may contribute to eating disorders.


    Navigating Menopause and Eating Disorders: A Holistic Approach

    Date:  Monday May 5, 2025

    Time:  6:00 - 7:15 p.m. ET

    Workshop Highlights: 

    • Understanding Menopause and Eating Disorders: physiological and psychological changes during menopause and how they intersect with disordered eating patterns
    • Holistic Approaches to Women's Health: holistic and naturopathic strategies to navigate menopausal symptoms while promoting a positive relationship with food and body image
    • Health-At-Every-Size (HAES) and Anti-Diet Approach: principles of HAES and the anti-diet movement, emphasizing self-care and self-acceptance
    • Trauma-Sensitive Care: insights into providing trauma-sensitive care for individuals experiencing both menopause and eating disorders, creating a supportive and understanding environment
    • Social Justice in Women's Health: integrating social justice into practice, addressing systemic issues that impact women's health, and working towards achieving health equity.


    Cultivating Self-Compassion

    Date:  Monday June 2, 2025

    Time:  6:00 - 7:30 p.m. ET

    In this workshop, Alyssa Walsh, CCC, and Estelle Cochingyan we will lead a gentle exploration of shame and disordered eating, how shame might actually be trying to protect us, and how to use self compassion, radical acceptance, and gratitude as coping tools to support recovery.

    Navigating Summer Stressors

    DATES:  Wednesdays starting May 21 to June 25, 2025

    TIME:  12:00 - 1:00 p.m. PT

    This is a free, virtual educational series open to anyone aged 19+ who is experiencing, or has experienced, an eating disorder or disordered eating — regardless of where they are in their recovery journey. Each session will be led by Margaret Noel, RCC, with one session facilitated by special guest speaker Ally Choo, RD.

    SUPPORTING YOUR LOVED ONE WITH EATING DISORDER RECOVERY

    Free (for Saskatchewan residents) full-day online workshop 

    Facilitated by Lauralyn Blackburn, MSW, RSW, CEDS-S 

    This online workshop is designed to equip carers with practical skills derived from Emotion-Focused Family Therapy that will help them strengthen their relationships, with their loved one and respond effectively to strong emotional reactions.
